How to Make It
It doesn’t get any easier! Stir all the ingredients together in a small bowl. Pour it into an airtight container and refrigerate until serving. You’ll be able to store it in the fridge for at least two weeks. It really is that simple.
Possible Honey Mustard Recipe Variations
Change up the Mustard – I love this recipe’s stone ground or whole grain mustard. As the sauce sits in the refrigerator, the mustard seeds absorb the moisture and have that nice pop when you bit into one, like little mustard caviar. The texture is just so appealing. However, you could definitely use Yellow or Dijon mustard, if you prefer, and it’s what you have on hand.
Add Some Heat – Hot Honey is all the rage right now, so why not Hot Honey Mustard Sauce. You can achieve that kick in several ways.
- Add red pepper flakes, chipotle powder or cayenne pepper. Remember, a little goes a long way. Start with just a pinch and you can always add more.
- Add Hot Sauce – Franks Red Hot, Cholula, Sriracha, or Chili Paste will all bring the heat. Again, begin with a few drops and build from there.
- Mix in Horseradish, Wasabi or minced Jalapeno. Always start small. Taste as you go and build to your desired heat level.
